K9 Lando served Harker Heights Community for ten years. He was the first dual purpose police canine in Bell County.
Lando was one of the oldest working canine members of the NNDDA and was well known for his accomplishments in the NNDDA as well as his community.
Lando wil be missed by Harker Heights, the NNDDA, and his handler Gabrielle Guerra.
K9 Lando will be laid to rest on July 10th at 3 pm at the Harker Heights Police Dept. |

2009 Region 3 Seminar will be held November 2th through 5th.
It will be a "patrol" only seminar, narcotic’s certification will be offered.
The seminar will be held at the "Garland Scout Ranch" in De Soto Parish, LA. There are furnished, without TV, cabins offered free for your stay.
Seminar fee will be $150.00, this includes t-shirt and price of cabin.

Chuck Wiesman's K-9 partner Buster who was 12 years old was layed to rest on May 18,2009. Buster placed 5th at the Nationals this year. He also placed 3rd in 2005. Buster paid for him self the first week in service by alerting to a package at a package hub. The package contained 30,000.00 dollars in drug money that was being shipped to Mexico. There are good dogs out there working but Buster was a great dog that will be missed for his great work and his great disposition with his family. |

Cadaver K9 Soleil was laid to rest on 4-8-09 after losing her battle with cancer. She was nearly 10 years old and about to be retired. She received NNDDA certs in both land and water cadaver as well as being certified as an airscent and cadaver dog by NASAR. K9 Soleil was a member of Texas Response Unit Search and Rescue. She will be missed by the community and her handler Shannon Kiley. |

On May 6, 2009 Handler Ramiro Martinez with NNDDA certified canine Yoeri searched the luggage compartment of a commercial bus. Canine Yoeri made a positive alert to the presence of narcotics on two large nylon bags. Inside the bags officers discovered $389,000.00 in US currency hidden in two air matresses.

Rocco was with Harris County Sheriffs Office 8 yrs. Over that time span he saved several lives and made several drug busts. Rocco will be greatly missed by Harris County Sheriffs Office, all his K-9 buddies, and especially by his handler, Ronald Hoyt |

This first find was bitter sweet, Murfreesboro Police Officer Angela Alexander and her bloodhound "Grace" certified with NNDDA in March, 2009. Officer Alexander has been training with "Gracie" for two years now in the area of scent disriminate trailing. All this was has done on her own time.

The Ennis Police Department K-9 Unit started when Officer Kevin Tuley was chosen as the City's first Canine Officer. In January 1998 K-9 GoGo and Kevin lived and worked together as a team. They were certified through The National Narcotics Detector Dog Association ( NNDDA ).
